Engineering Student Council

What is ESC?

Engineering Student Council (ESC) is made up of the Dalhousie Undergraduate Engineering Society (DUES) Executive as well as representatives from each Constituent Society and members at large. It is a space where DUES meets with these discipline representatives, society leaders, and general students, to communicate updates on events, internal initiatives, student issues and society and individual grants. It provides a channel of communication between DUES, the student body, the engineering faculty and the Dalhousie Student Union (DSU).

How do the meetings work?

The ESC meetings follow a slightly modified version of the Robert’s Rules of Order, as enforced by the Chair. The link provided explains the process and guidelines behind Robert’s Rules, if you would like to familiarize yourself. You do not need to worry about fully understand the application of the rules in order to attend, they are only used as guidelines, but can seem complicated at first.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Bi-weekly ESC meetings are held throughout the academic year.

Any interested student may attend, but voting rights are limited to a certain number of representatives per discipline and year.
