ENG CONFERENCES & COMPETITIONS

Dalhousie and DUES send a number of delegates every year across the country to attend various conferences and competitions to represent Dalhousie Engineering. Anyone enrolled in the Faculty of Engineering as a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree student can apply to attend a conference, however delegates selected to attend are chosen by the DUES Conference Committee. Any student meeting the entry requirements may enter to represent Dalhousie at an engineering competition.

FAQ: Do I have to pay to go to a conference or competition?

There is a 'delegate fee' that each conference charges, depending on their sponsorships and budgets. These fees vary by conference, often in proportion to the length of the conference (this can be anywhere from a few days to an entire week). However, DUES helps cover travel fees, such as plane tickets or fuel, and accommodations (if applicable) based on the available yearly Conference Budget. This way students get a huge discount to help them focus more on gaining experience and education.
